The Johnny Allnyte Worldwide Foundation was set up as a not-for-profit organization with the aim of raising funds to assist those in need within the worldwide tow truck and trucking industries and to spread the word globally about Johnny Allnyte Day and what it represents.

Johnny Allnyte Day represents the families. It is for every little child that has had to wave goodbye to their Mum or Dad when they have had to drive the highway and for all the ones left at home to hope and pray that their loved one returns home safely. It is about the broken sleep, the missed or half eaten meals, the broken promises to family and friends because they are called out to work in all weather conditions, at all hours of the day and night. It is about driving around delivering goods all day on our roads that are nothing more than car parks, and being under the pump to keep to their schedule when they are kept waiting to load and unload. This day is about the untold sacrifices these industry workers and their families have to make, just so they can do their job. It is also about the relationship breakdowns and divorces that these jobs contribute to for a job that not everyone puts their hand up to do.

Members of the tow truck and trucking industries are asked to show their support on August 17 by flying black and white ribbons on their vehicles – black to represent the fallen and white to represent the living.
